Ashley and Jeff had a beautiful spring wedding at the historic Elm Estate in Reno last weekend. I had not photographed a wedding at this venue since it was called The Chism House! The current owners did an A-Mazing job remodeling the inside of the historic house, along with adding a spacious reception hall with a full bar, and adorable tiny house cottages for guests to stay in. Everything about Ashley and Jeff”s wedding was perfectly thought out and planned, with so much attention to all the little details. A few of my favorite details of the day were the gifts they each gave to each other … each representing something from the past, present and future of their relationship … too many to show all of them here, but one of my favorites was one of Ashley’s gifts to Jeff: her grand father’s vintage bowler hat! Another detail that I loved was that the cake was covered in writing! It had the lyrics to Jeff’s favorite song somehow printed on the icing! How did you do that, Delicious Designs?! As always, Brandie, owner of B&B Designs, did an amazing job with the florals … I love how the ceremony arch was incorporated above the door on the house, it made a perfect framed backdrop not only for the ceremony but also for the family portraits. Karie, owner of She Said Yes Weddings, did a great job keeping the timeline of the day on track. Blend Catering served up a delicious meal too. And Kyle, owner of O’ Malley Reels, is a great videographer to work alongside with … we both have a laid-back, documentary style to capture the day as it happens before us. Sure, we make time to set up the portraits, but for the rest of the day, we let the bride and groom enjoy being in the moment of one of the happiest days of their lives.
