We are Lake Tahoe wedding photographers Scott and Monique Sady. We love telling the story of each unique Lake Tahoe wedding in an artistic, documentary, comfortable style. We are photojournalists and story tellers first and foremost. We understand there is no story more important to you than the story of your life.
Photography by Monique has photographed over 500 Lake Tahoe weddings since starting our business in 2002! Scott is an FAA licensed drone pilot and we also offer a combo video/photo package.

You can’t beat a backpacking wedding where we literally had this whole lake to ourselves for Emily and AJ’s sunrise wedding ceremony!
Scott got ordained as a minister just for this wedding.
We have known AJ since he was a tween, so this was an extra special day, and such an honor for us to be there for them. This will truly go down in our 20 plus year wedding careers as one our all time favorite weddings.

Erik and Kate are engaged!
This was a tricky one to coordinate between Scott and Erik because it required Scott to hike in to an area above Cascade Lake without cell service, find the perfect spot with the background of both Cascade and Tahoe, and patiently wait for the couple to arrive, all while looking like just another tourist with a camera early on a Sunday morning.
Kate was absolutely surprised and didn’t even notice Scott was documenting the whole thing for quite a while.

J + B’s morning engagement session at a hike in Lake Tahoe gem! We met them at the trailhead and followed the trail through the forest, where we stopped along the way for some photos with the beautiful cedar trees.
We got to the covey beaches early enough to beat the summer crowds.

We just got back from an overnight backpacking trip where we photographed and officiated a wedding at a high alpine lake, and this is what we woke up to at 3:30 am!
So of course, a ring detail to document the scene was a must!

We usually have a strict “no working at Lake Tahoe on Fourth of July” policy … especially if it falls on a Saturday!
While the popular beaches of Zephyr Cove and Kings Beach were apparently experiencing the “teen takeovers,” we decided we would take a job yesterday since it was at a private residence right on the lake! Hard to believe this was just up the street from Zephyr Cove!

The plan fell in to place perfectly yesterday afternoon at Lake Tahoe at an overlook off the beaten path … champagne was popped and the couple enjoyed some time together before heading to Everline for the weekend, where another surprise was waiting - their families also made their way to Tahoe for the celebration! Congrats!

First solo wedding of the season by Monique was a blast at Palisades High Camp on Saturday.
With hail, rain, thunder and lightning - this must be quadruple good luck for Mia and George!
The only pivot was bringing the ceremony indoors for safety reasons - can’t be outside on the top of a mountain when lightning is all around us!
Thankfully the weather gods smiled on us for several different portrait sessions through out the day … after a hail and rain storm, it cleared up for just enough time to do their first look and wedding party photos in the meadow!
Then there were a few times after the ceremony when we could go outside for some more bride and groom portraits.

Not a wedding, lol!
But I wanted to share a bit of what we do in the off season …. We do other freelance editorial assignments, fine art landscape ( check out Scott’s instagram for that - @tahoelight ) and in this case, we work for Mt. Rose ski resort doing photography for their marketing department.
While Scott was in the Bay Area this past weekend doing photography for a road construction project on I 80 in downtown San Francisco, I had the fun job of photographing the annual pond skim at Mt. Rose.
And, to tie it in to a wedding theme, I chatted with a groom I had at Edgewood 18 years ago!
I kept hearing my name called through out the event, and every time I turned around, I said hello to friends who were watching the show!
One more fun moment came when I was photographing the sophisticated pond skimmer with the top hat who made it 100 feet across the 110 foot length of the pond carrying his tray of glasses and a wine bottle … at the en of the event, his daughter came up to me and she asked if I grew up in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and when I said yes, we instantly recognized each other - I used to be her and her sister’s babysitter 30 years ago! By the time their little brother came along, my sister took over the baby sitting duties.
What a fun day!

Jeremy and Julia’s surprise proposal at Northstar Tahoe!
A lot of planning went in to this one … Jeremy and Julia would be on a ski trip with Julia’s family and have never skied at Northstar, and I haven’t skied there for about 20 years!
So we both did some research, and after Jeremy and the family had skied there the day before the proposal to scout the mountain, he decided to opt for a private off trail spot on top of a little knoll … map pins and photos were exchanged, Find My phone settings were put in place, and it was the perfect surprise!
I got to the mountain early to warm up with my camera gear strapped to my front and back, and then I got in to position and waited for them to arrive … I just looked like any other skier taking a little snack break.
After the initial surprise, I did a few laps with them to get chair lifts shots and some candids of them skiing together and with Julia’s family.
We all then went our separate ways for a few hours of slushy spring skiing, and then eventually met up again in the Northstar village for a few more portraits.

A different kind of proposal for Shu and Jerry … not really a surprise. Shu knew that the proposal was planned for their Edgewood weekend, but at least she was surprised by the flowers he had set up in their lakefront suite and balcony.
After entering the room, they sat together on the couch and watched a video with photos of their life together, and then he brought her to the balcony for the proposal.
After that, I met them out on the beach … Shu came prepared with a beachy wedding dress and veil!
While this was way different than the normal surprise proposals that I do when I stealthily hide in the background until the moment of the proposal, it was fun to experience and capture a new type of proposal/ engagement/ wedding portrait session all in one!
