Scott and I met up with Anna and Danny last week for their engagement session at the trailhead to one of our favorite local beaches on the east shore of Lake Tahoe. They live in South Lake Tahoe, and wanted to go to a more secluded area of the lake for the session. We don’t get too many couples who are willing to hike for their photos, so when they suggested Whale Beach, we were excited since we have always wanted to do a couple’s session there! We started our walk down to the beach at about 6 p.m. By the time we arrived, there was one last nude dude swimming in the shallows, and a father and son packing up their picnic. After about a half hour, we were the only ones left to enjoy the sunset. I joked with them that I had reserved Whale Beach for their private engagement session! Scott came along for the ride and brought his paddle board. But he couldn’t help grabbing one of my cameras from time to time since there are endless angles when shooting in and around the huge granite boulders. I imagine this post will be part 1 of 3, since we are going to meet up with them next week at Burning Man for their playa ceremony. And then, we will head out to the Sonoma Coast at the end of September for their official wedding. We had a great time getting to know them for this session, and can’t wait to document the rest of their celebrations!
