Rachel and Brian were married at the Corner Barn in Graeagle a few weeks ago. They were hoping that their wedding photography would include some snowy backdrops, and they got their wish. There were snow flurries on and off all day long, and they were happy to get out in the snow for some fun pre and post ceremony portraits.
This wedding was a great way to kick off our 2018 wedding season! The couple and their friends and family were so nice and easy to work with. Rachel is from Santa Cruz, which is where I grew up as well up in the mountains, and she and Brian are also San Jose State graduates, where Scott and I both got our degrees in Photojournalism. They met there, in fact, during a fun game between their water polo teams.
A year ago, Brian made a personalized Monopoly game board for Rachel that also came along with a scavenger hunt and ended in a proposal on their fourth year anniversary, which happens to also be the same date of their wedding. The game was displayed at the reception, and they posted a video on their wedding website that Brian made of the building process. He built a wood etching laser from scratch and programmed it to customize the wording on the board with their favorite places and memories, which included 290 thousand lines of code, 91 square feet of wood, 41 feet of wire, and 498 hours of labor! Very impressive, and one of the more creative proposals I have ever heard about! I’ve included some detail images of the board, check them out as you scroll through the weddng photos.
