Twenty Mile House Wedding of Lauren and Daniel

by Scott Sady

Lauren and Daniel got married at the 20 mile-house near Grass Valley in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. This is a great and somewhat quirky place on the Yuba River where you can have loud music and still not disturb the neighbors. The site fit the couple as Lauren’s friends played the music and Daniel’s friends kept the party rolling. This venue features cabins for guests, a great house for the bride to get ready in, and some old abandoned mining buildings across the tracks that made for some interesting photographs. Hopefully we’ll see you on the slopes guys, congratulations.

The girls getting ready

The bride has a thing for trains and went running out of her cabin where she was getting ready to wave at the conductor.

A candid moment right after the ceremony finished.

The wedding party was a rowdy bunch

Back at the reception, kids will be kids, and big kids who have kids, well, they’ll just encourage them.

First dance

I like the barefoot thing. I think they had their shoes off most of the night.

Even the little ones rocked out to the band, which were Lauren’s friends.

A finely crafted shotski, on a fat powder board no less.

I finished up my assigned time as twilight fell, but I’m sure these guys had a great time well into the night.
