Kailey and Brett were married at the beginning of April at Squaw Valley on the deck at High Camp with snowy peaks surrounding them and a clear view of Lake Tahoe in the background. Guests enjoyed a chilly cocktail hour on the deck, and then loaded the tram back down the mountain for the reception at the Olympic Village Inn at the base of the mountain. Scott started the day early skiing with Brett and his groomsmen, while I hung out in the PlumpJack suite with Kailey and her bridesmaids while they were getting ready for the wedding. Before the wedding ceremony up on the mountain, Kailey and Brett did a “first look” at PlumpJack. Kailey and Brett are season pass holders at Squaw, so after their first look, they wanted to get a round of beers with their wedding party at Le Chamois, The Chamy, as it is known to the regulars. We then piled in to a party bus with them and their wedding party that took us to Lake Tahoe and a great old wooden pier without any other people around on mild, April Saturday afternoon. Their ski themed wedding included miniature wooden ski boutonnierres for the guys, snow boots for the entire wedding party, and a shot-ski for reception drinks at the bar. They had a lively dancing crowd, and their guests enjoyed our photo booth as well. Their Dj was Derek Tarpay of Lake DJ, and their day-of wedding coordinator was Shawna Lee West, owner of Your Tahoe Day.
