I wasn’t sure what I was walking into when I started the photography for Robert and Michelle’s wedding at the high camp at Squaw Valley. I got there early since I had not met the bride before and we talked a little while she was getting ready. Both the bride and groom were super laid back and even quite reserved at the beginning. Plus since the wedding was at high camp and the reception back down at the Resort at Squaw Creek, our timeline was super precise. The tram would not wait, and we were pushing it down to the last second to get on it. Well, they held the tram a few minutes for us and we made it up to high camp and started shooting some bridal portraits with Lake Tahoe in the background and suddenly this shy bride turned into a super model. Really, she was up for anything and required almost no direction from me. We had a lot of fun with both the bride and her girls and the groom, who makes snowboard films. And I’m sure when you look at the pictures you’ll agree that with a couple this good looking, the wedding practically shot itself. Once we got down to the reception a new set of surprises awaited after dinner as the bride’s father did one of the most hilarious lounge singer/superstar impressions, (actually he was singing so I guess it wasn’t an impression,) that I literally thought bra’s were going to start flying on stage. Enjoy.
