North Tahoe backyard wedding for Jenna and Zack

By Monique

Jenna and Zack were married in her parents’ backyard in Incline Village. I arrived early to capture the getting ready part of the day for both of them. Jenna, from what I learnd during the toasts, is quite a baker, and enjoys sharing her creation with just about everyone. She made her delicious chocolate wedding cake, and the individually gift wrapped biscotti for the favors. Yummy to both! (She gave me a tasty care package the next day after our album consultation) The tent that was set up in the back yard was really great as far as tents go, with a clear ceiling and sides, decorated with paper lanterns. Whenever I experience weddings that have a little flavor of my own wedding, it makes me smile: Jenna and Zack had a potluck just like Scott and me! Sceptics may be a little scared, thinking, what if there isn’t enough food? But from my experience, people go all out and really put an effort in to making a special dish to share as part of a wedding potluck. Dinner in the tent was followed by dancing under an open air tent, with music provided by Chad Sawyer of Moonight Mobile DJ. After the traditional first dance and parent dances, they did the horah dance, which is always a treat to photograph. I just love the expressions and energy created when the bride and groom are carried in the chairs and the circles of people dance around them.

Zack’s parents sing along to a song during the reception.
