Oh man, where to begin! I have been wanting these two to tie the knot for so long! And when they finally got engaged, I really, really hoped they would want me to be their wedding photographer! You see, Stephanie and Kenny are part of my Burning Man tribe, and Kenny is one of my bff’s brothers, so I guess I just felt an attachment to them and their story from the beginning!

Their wedding was at Kenny’s family cabin in Tahoe on one of the stormiest days of the year. There was so much wind at the lake that huge waves came to shore and even crashed up over the pier at the house where Steph was getting ready with her family. Then the rain came! But since the wedding was at their family home, the schedule was adjustable, so they and their guests enjoyed a pre ceremony cocktail hour … waiting for the rain to let up for the ceremony. My bff Sara, Kenny’s sister, was the officiant and she created one of the most heartfelt, sincere ceremonies I have ever witnessed.

After the ceremony, guests mingled while tapas were passed through out the crowd of people gathered in different areas of the property where they had made sitting nooks. Kenny’s dad Brad, also our Burning Man campmate, gave a great toast, followed by Kenny, and then the dancing warmed people up on a super cold Tahoe night. Kenny was his own DJ, mixing the dance music seamlessly, and he was even still able to dance too!
