Maren and Perry eloped at Lake Tahoe in mid March during one of those “crazy weather” days that brought gale force winds, snow flurries and a few moments of calm. Good thing this couple was up for the hike to a remote Tahoe beach no matter what the weather was doing. They were rewarded with a private lake front ceremony with snow flurries coming and going as they said their vows to each other.

The day started when I met them at Edgewood where they got ready at the lodge, had a quick first look in the howling wind, and then returned to their room for a sweet cake cutting ceremony. Then we regrouped a bit north for the hike down to the beach. They each wore their hiking boots that they also plan to wear on their honeymoon in Patagonia. After the ceremony, they also enjoyed a champagne toast and a walk along the beach. They had been planning a bigger wedding and reception, but since Covid-19 would still be an issue for their families who would have had to travel to the wedding, the intimate elopement was the next best thing. And they actually commented how the whole experience, especially the snow, was just perfect!
