I’ve had to keep these secret for over a month because this couple is so cool, that they decided to have a surprise wedding party on spring equinox, where the guests would have no idea they were coming to a wedding ceremony. Somehow the secret was kept, the pig was roasted, the guests arrived and Manny and Monika slipped into the house to change, came out and surprised everyone with a flash wedding ceremony. However before that, they wanted to get some nice wedding photos, so we did things a little in reverse, starting with the trash the dress photo shoot down at Vikingsholm in Emerald Bay in beautiful Lake Tahoe. This was a mid-winter photo shoot and Monika really wanted to do the pictures here, which worked out perfectly since it was a one mile, snowy walk downhill to get to the location. Given that I shot this on President’s Day weekend during the first good snow year in the last five, saying that it was crowded around the lake was like saying there is a lot of water in the ocean. However, walk a little bit and the crowds vanish. We basically had all of Vikingsholm to ourselves for this shoot.
