by Scott,
Early this season I got to photograph my first wedding at the Chalet View Lodge in Graeagle, California. We photograph a lot of weddings at the nearby twenty mile house and Corner Barn. The Chalet View Lodge is a relaxed venue and has a brewery on site, which is always a bonus. The only downside for this particular wedding was the record setting snowfall we had this year. Much of the venue was wet and muddy this early in the season, so we were somewhat restricted in where we could shoot without getting too muddy, but that is an unusual exception to what must normally be a photogenic venue. The groom and his best friends were determined to have a good time. The moment I walked on site I watched them laughing like crazy in the hot tub on the deck of their cabin and then head straight to a bubble bath… together! Because of the wet conditions outside, the venue set up a tent with a nice floor to stay dry while dancing, provided some wood chipping to cover the ground at the forest ceremony site and did a fine job overall.
