Scott and I photographed Roxanne and Aaron’s wedding at the Ritz-Carlton at Northstar Lake Tahoe on a snow covered November day. Because the ceremony was held indoors at 6:00 after sunset, we did all of their portraits before the wedding while there was still light in the sky. They really wanted a lake view for their portrait session, so we took them over to Sand Harbor, where we were the only people there on a chilly November Sunday afternoon. Since this wedding is one that Scott and I did together, I am including some “behind the scenes” images of Scott with his lighting set up. I think it really gives you an idea of what the scene looks like “in real life,” and then I include his final image, as he sees it, dramatically lit with his unique angular vision. I also included several images of Roxanne and Aaron where you can see how we both are photographing the same situation, each with our own style. I tend to capture the more softly lit, sun washed images of the couple, while Scott is drawn to capturing the dramatic aspects of the scene.
