Debbie and Oscar’s Victorian themed wedding ceremony in Virginia City was one of the most unique weddings I have done. Their ceremony was held in the garden at the historic Henry Piper House which is opperated as the “B” Street House Bed and Breakfast. After the ceremony, we had about a half hour to get some wedding portraits of them before the reception began in Reno at the California Building at Idlewild Park. A half hour is not much time with all of the amazing backdrops that Virginia City has to offer, but we managed to get some great images in the garden of the B&B, inside the living room, and along the back streets of Virginia City. B Street was actually a much better area for portraits because it still had the wooden walkway and historical buildings, without the crowds and kitschy signs of the main street just down the hill.

Debbie’s Victorian era dress was hand made for her wedding, and she found this antique flower holder for her bouquet.
Debbie comes down the tiny staircase at the B Street B&B to see Oscar before the ceremony, he sings her a song before they head out to the garden for the wedding ceremony.
Their intimate ceremony was in the garden with their immediate families.

At the reception, each wedding guest received a dance card as they arrived. Dances included the Grand March, Virginia Reel, Spanish Waltz, Tango Mixer, and the Gothic Dance. Tea sandwiches and refreshing beverages were served at the mid afternnon celebration at the California Building at Idlewild Park in Reno.
