Vanessa and Neto’s Southern California wedding – reception detail shots

By Monique

This is post number one for Vanessa and Neto’s Southern California wedding held May 15th at the Pacific Palms Resort in Industry Hills. Today’s post features detail shots from the fabulous tent set up for their reception.  Red was the dominant color and decorations included Chinese lanterns and gold bird cages. Their dinner was a traditional Chinese banquet with 10 courses served family style. After their dinner and the formalities of the traditional dances and cake cutting, the crowd danced to classic 80’s music by the band Centerfold. Sonia Sharma, owner of Sonia Sharma Events, was the event coordinator, and describes the reception theme, “Vanessa’s wanted the feel of a 1920’s Opium Den and we decided to use elements such as deep red with brown. We then mixed in bird cages and lanterns that were inspired by her invitations and we suspended them in clusters above each table instead of having decor on the table tops. The lounge area was draped with deep red chiffon and hidden from guests during dinner service. Once dinner was complete we unveiled the lounge area that consisted of cabanas, white lounge pieces that were placed on faux grass and a beautiful dessert bar. We mixed fresh berries and fruits with traditional Brazilian pastries and candy from Neto’s childhood. Guests were able to take fruit and desserts home as favors at the end of the night.”
