By Monique and Scott
Monique, yes, I finally have a bride with my namesake, and Jonathan were married at one of our favorite Sierra wedding venues – The HideOut near Kirkwood mountain.
Their wedding combined two cultures – Jewish and Lebanese. In today’s world wide climate, each family lovingly came together and shared in some of the wedding traditions from each culture. For families traveling from as far away as Israel, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the HideOut was a perfect get away for everyone to enjoy the weekend with games, swimming in the lake, and ample accommodations, including camping and glamping in the HideOut’s designated camping area.
A few of the most important things to Monique and Jonathan for us to capture, me as the photographer, and Scott as the videographer, were them paddling the canoe on the lake in their wedding attire, and the different cultural dances, including both the Hora and some fun, high energy Lebanese chanting and dancing.
They didn’t really want much, if any, getting ready candids, but we got to the venue early, and they were running a little bit late, so we captured just a bit of that for each of them, along with their friends swimming and paddling in the lake.
Monique had a sweet first look with both her dad and brother, before her first look with Jonathan in the field. The HideOut has so many amazing backdrops for photos, as I have already mentioned the lake with the canoe, there are also a lot of gorgeous granite hilltops and several areas of wild flowers during the early summer months.
