Melinda and Peter’s wedding was up on the mountaintop at the Squaw Valley High Camp. After getting ready in the village, Melinda and her bridesmaids enjoyed the tram ride up to the ceremony on the deck where the guests had gathered to enjoy the view. When we had met with Melinda and Peter before the wedding, they had really emphasized that they really didn’t want many posed portraits. After the ceremony, Scott and I knew we had just about 10 minutes with them before they were done. So we breezed through the family and wedding party portraits so we could bring the couple out on to the trails with the mountains as the backdrop. The day flowed by smoothly with Scott and I mostly utilizing our photojournalism backgrounds to document their wedding as it unfolded with candid moments. The sunset that night was so beautiful, and we were really happy that they were up for a few more portraits up on the hill before they did their first dance.
