It’s coffee table album designing season right now, so I thought I’d add some posts that show you some complete flush mount album pages. This is an example of a 12×12 flush mounted coffee table album that hold about 75 images. I design all of the pages myself using the images that the couple chooses for the album. (I never, ever hire an outside company to do the page design.) I like to keep the design simple, clean and elegant, something that will be timeless and cherished by future generations. The first and last pages show one page, or side. The rest of the pages are shown as double page spreads, with a few panoramic images that spread across both pages. The actual book will have a very small black seem in the middle of the double page spread, this is the seem that shows the actual thick page boards that the photos are mounted on. The couple tells me which images they want as panoramic double page spreads, and I design the book based on their input. This album is for Elena and Sean, who were married at Northstar on August 8. I started the day with a brief getting ready session at Northstar, and then the wedding part and immediate family went to Lake Tahoe for the portrait session at the beach. Elena and Sean had their first look at each other at the beach, sharing a few moments together before beginning the family portraits. The ceremony and reception were held outside at Northstar with the trees and village as the backdrop. Some of the highlights for me to document during the wedding were their dog as the ring bearer running up the aisle to deliver the rings that were on a collar around his neck, Elena and Sean’s choreographed first dance (she is a classically trained dancer), the s’mores bar set up around the fire pit, and the traditional Hora chair dance.
