Chelsea and Jon were a great coupe to work with, and their wedding photography images on June 28 in Tahoe City are among my most memorable for this season. The spring showers really provided a burst of color with the purple lupines that were almost as tall as me! The day was warm, and they chose to have their reception under canvas tents instead of the standard giant white tent, enabling them to fully enjoy the natural surroundings that Tahoe has to offer. Their dance floor was also outdoors next to the lake.

Chelsea didn’t have traditional bridesmaids, but she did have a great group of girls who she wanted to make sure to include in the portrait session before the ceremony.

I love to look for the moments during the ceremony that are not obvious or at the front of the aisle, like this one on the right of the kids enjoying their lolly pops.

After the speeches and cake cutting, I brought the couple out to the lake to take advantage of the golden light right before the sun set.

I love the way the girl in the red dress is framed by the bright patterns of the other dresses.
