Alicia and Jason were married at the Resort at Squaw Creek at the beginning of May. They were lucky to have a beautiful, mild day, and there was still a little bit of snow left for them to enjoy Squaw Valley’s last day of skiing the day after their wedding. I started their wedding photojournalism a little differently than I normally do, with the guys at the Village at Squaw Valley. I did a few of the getting ready shots in Jason’s room with him and his guys, and then we hit the village for some fun location shots, including the bases of both the High Camp Cable Car and the Gold Coast Funitel, and some moody shots inside the authentic Auld Dubliner Irish Pub. It was great to have this fun time with the guys scheduled into the getting ready part of the day. Alicia and Jason’s color scheme for their wedding was “Tiffany blue,” which added just the right vividness for a spring wedding in the Sierras.

The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub had some great backdrops for the guys group portraits

Alicia and Jason’s color scheme showcased Tiffany blue / Alicia buckling her shoes, I just love incorporating people’s tattoos in to photographs!

I love location photography, I like to utilize both the inside of the getting ready space, left, and the natural backdrop of the wedding venue
Alicia and Jason’s ceremony was on the Spa Deck at the Resort at Squaw Creek. A new feature added for this season is the outdoor fireplace, and yes that is a real fire burning
The golf course was not open yet, so we were able to meander about the trails for their portrait session after the ceremony

Alicia’s mom made all the girls hula hoops as gifts, so they brought them out for some fun on the dance floor
